The Denver Foundation Responds to COVID-19

The Denver Foundation

As Colorado navigates the spread of COVID-2019, The Denver Foundation is taking steps to promote the overall health and safety of our staff members, their families, and our community. The Denver Foundation is transitioning to remote work beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. Although our office will be closed, we will remain hard at work – in partnership with you – to meet critical needs across Metro Denver and beyond.

We will support the community, especially those who are most vulnerable.

We will deploy resources with an emphasis on providing critical services that meet the basic human needs of the most vulnerable people in Metro Denver.

We have activated our Critical Needs Fund, a flexible and responsive source of funds. If you would like to donate to the Critical Needs Fund, we will effectively mobilize your philanthropy.

We will continually update our fundholders, donors, and other partners with opportunities to mobilize philanthropy in support of the community.

We will adapt to meet our responsibilities to the community.

We will conduct all site visits for grant applicants by phone or video conference.

We will conduct business meetings by phone or video conference.

We have paused in-person listening sessions related to our strategic framework. These sessions will resume later this year, and our online survey remains available.

We will inform our donors, grantees, and community partners if we expect any business functions to be limited, delayed, or temporarily unavailable.

We will meet today’s needs and tomorrow’s opportunities.

We will continue to closely monitor fluctuations in the markets and take action as recommended to sustain charitable investments.

We will share updates from our investment consultants, with whom we are in regular communication.

We are listening closely to all of our community partners. As we are called to adapt, we will do so. As needs become clear, we will work with you to meet them. On behalf of The Denver Foundation, thank you for your support and flexibility as we navigate this global health crisis together.

Sincerely,

Javier Alberto Soto
