The Denver Foundation Will Manage the New Denver Immigrants Legal Services Fund

The Denver Foundation

For more than 90 years, The Denver Foundation has worked towards a vision of a community where all people have the opportunity for a high quality of life, where they feel safe and rooted. This vision extends to the immigrants who share our Denver home and contribute so much to our community. For this reason, we are excited and honored to announce that the Foundation will manage the Denver Immigrant Legal Services Fund, which will support efforts to increase available legal representation to immigrants.

The purpose of the Fund is to provide grants to qualified nonprofit organizations so that they can offer direct legal representation to immigrants. Grants will also support organizations working to increase the pool of attorneys available to represent immigrants. This program is important not only for the individuals directly affected but for their families.

The Denver Foundation’s partners in the Denver Immigrant Legal Services Fund include Mayor Michael B. Hancock, the City and County of Denver’s Office of Human Rights and Community Partnerships, City Council, the legal community, and immigration rights organizations. The Fund was announced this afternoon in a press conference hosted by the Mayor’s Office.

The Denver Foundation employs a range of strategies to strengthen our community, including grantmaking, programming, leadership development, collaboration with donors, grantees, and community partners, and advocacy around issues that directly align with our mission and values.
